What can I eat after weight loss surgery?

It depends on how your body reacts.

After surgery, your body needs the best fuel to stay strong and healthy! 
  • Focus on protein-rich foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy, along with plenty of veggies, fruits, and whole grains.
  • Drink plenty of water daily, but better not during meals. If it makes you nauseous, you can replace tap water with water from a bottle. 
  • Be careful with foods high in sugar and fats.
  • Soups and smoothies are great ways to have more veggies and fruit in your meal.


However, every stomach is different and will also react different on foods and drinks. Some people can eat almost everything and some cannot. It's a matter of trying out different foods and checking how your body reacts on it.
