Why is there no calcium in the multivitamin?

Calcium reduces the absorption of iron, a nutritient in your multivitamin.

Our WLS multivitamins have iron. Unfortunately, calcium reduces the absorption of iron. For this reason, we don't have calcium in our multivitamins. We have developed a separate calcium supplement you can take apart from your multivitamin, with at least 2 hours between those. 

We recommend taking a total of 1500 to 2000 milligrams calcium per day. You can take your calcium from foods like chia seeds, cheese, yoghurt and sardines. It can be difficult to eat enough calcium from foods after a weight loss surgery. Luckily, you can also get calcium from supplements. Our calcium has added vitamin D for even better absoprtion of your calcium. 

Did you know that your body can't absorb more than 500 mg calcium at once? That is why you have to take calcium in doses of maximum 500 milligrams each divided over the day.
